RMA Careers
We all have dreams and aspirations for our careers. Join a work family who cares about you.
I am not involved directly with any of our stakeholders but I work closely with my colleagues by allocating work to them so they can get it done as quickly and effectively as possible. So my role is to ensure that the work gets allocated so that good relationships can be kept and built upon with stakeholders and that they see RMA in a good light and that RMA does care about all the people they are involved with.
I have made a positive impact because all the work that comes in get allocated equally by me to all my other colleagues in my team so they can do it. I think I have made a positive impact because I divide the work and they know what they have to do so as to not create confusion or burn them out. Without me they would have very little work to do as nothing would get allocated, so my role is very important.
There have been many great experiences so it is hard to pick one. I think my favorite experiences have been all the team buildings and team lunches we have had together because we learn things about each other and get to know each other on a more personal level and not see them as a colleague. We are all human beings and everybody has a story I believe.
I have grown a lot since I have been at RMA. The work I do is not necessarily in line with what I studied at university but I enjoy what I do because I feel I am growing as a manager even though I am not one according to my job title. This is because I allocate the work to people to do and keep tabs about where my colleagues are with it. I also believe I have grown a lot because of my other responsibilities and being able to see what I can take on. As a member of the transformation I have a responsibility towards my constituents and give them a louder and more impactful ‘voice’. I really enjoy being in this committee as I am learning a lot and I am passionate about the disabled having a disability myself and being responsible for them.
There is not a lot of scanning that I do so this job title may change soon. My job is to constantly monitor the new business and policy admin mail boxes and allocate all the work equally that comes into these boxes and then record that on my stats. This is what I do every day.
What gets me up in the morning is the fact that I have something to wake up to and that I am making a living. I like meeting new people so being able to see and interact with them every day, so this also motivates me to wake up in the morning. I am also motivated by the fact that I am making a difference in what I do and in the people I interact with.
I chose RMA because firstly, I was looking for a job and the people I met at the beginning were friendly. I would recommend RMA to other people because there are lots of things to get involved in and not just your main function. I would recommend it because you meet new people and find out about them and what they do.
I think you must be friendly, have a sense of humour, hard working, open-minded, curious, always willing to help others and be keen to learn. Caring for the wellbeing of our people. I feel I care about other people as I believe I am sympathetic and empathetic towards people and always try help where I can. Treating others with dignity and respect. I feel I am always friendly and treat people with dignity and respect. Being honest in all that we do; I feel I am always honest. Working as a team is something I identify with as people have different ideas and integrating these ideas is the most effective way to work because everyone will be happy and therefore more effective.
I think medical aid because it is expensive so RMA offering medical aid is very helpful. I also enjoy the freedom I am given as long as work gets done. This has made me and my family very happy because they are happy to see me be successful and be more independent.
It makes me very proud to work at a company that cares about people and that is very up to date and that I know will help me move forward in my career.
