RMA Careers
We all have dreams and aspirations for our careers. Join a work family who cares about you.
The core function of RMA is the administration of workmen’s compensation on behalf of injured employees and their dependents. My role as a legal advisor is important in ensuring that RMA stakeholders know and understand their rights and obligations in respect of the social legislation regulating compensation. The interaction of a legal advisor with the stakeholders must strive to be fair, balanced and transparent at all times.
Within the working environment I am always available to provide guidance and support on the interpretation of legislation and decision making to fellow employees in all business units.
My favourite team experience was at the RMA Operational Strategy Session for 2018. The topic was the Improvement of Operational Efficiency to enhance Customer Experience. It was motivational to listen to the suggestions from various business units on how to ensure that RMA employees are provided with the support they need – in training or other areas. This was identified as being critical to ensuring that our stakeholders experience optimal customer experience in line with the RMA values.
A typical day is comprised of engagement with fellow employees and stakeholders on various aspects of the business. This includes inter alia drafting and reviewing documents, representing RMA at the Tribunal, providing legal opinions and training.
RMA cares about people. As a professional and working parent I am appreciative of working for a company that allows me to balance my career and life and where I am encouraged to take care of myself as an individual. My role as a parent has never been frowned upon and has not prevented me from being afforded opportunities for growth within RMA.
To fit within the RMA culture, one needs to care for the wellbeing of others. RMA is committed to ensuring that the employees and dependents on whose behalf we administer compensation are treated with dignity, respect and assisted without delay. To fit within the RMA culture a strong work ethic, resilience and initiative is encouraged and rewarded through individual employee recognition schemes. A team spirit and knowledge sharing culture is encouraged through incentives based on individual, team and company performance.
One of my favourite RMA benefits and perks is the of voluntary and mandatory internal and external training provided to all employees. Training on Diversity and Emotional Training is a mandatory training provided to all RMA employees and which is an indication of the determination by RMA to ensure that all employees live up to the values of the company.
There is a view that the administration of social benefits is a laborious and unsatisfactory process. With RMA we take pride in knowing that we are able to change this view through our exposure to the latest in technology which enables us to be efficient and compete with other companies in this area.
