Inspiring communities to become financially savvy
Core to our business approach is the philosophy of Caring Compassionate Compensation. This philosophy not only lies at the centre of our service methodology, but also in our approach to social responsibility and corporate citizenship.
As part of our efforts to inspire communities to become financially savvy, we have established a consumer education programme that is designed to help South Africans improve their financial management skills.
With this initiative, we intend to reach some of the most financially vulnerable communities in our society to educate them on how they can improve their finances and also equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to make sound financial decisions. This is in line with the National Treasury’s vision “to increase the financial capability and thereby the financial well-being of all South Africans”.
In 2018 we appointed seven service providers to train around 8 000 members of the communities in Gauteng, Free State, North West, Mpumalanga, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
The outcome of attending the training includes:
- Anaylse their spending habits
- Budget and control their finances
- Understand the importance of savings
- Understand debt and its implications
- Prepare for their financial future
