Why we developed the ERTW/Rehabilitation Programme

The anticipated Amendment Bill in the COID Act includes mandatory provisions of Rehabilitation, Reintegration, and Early Return to Work in addition to the traditional focus on compensation benefits for work-related injuries and diseases.

Objectives of the programme:

To ensure sustainable outcomes that contribute to early return to work and social integration.
To facilitate multi-disciplinary team intervention to optimise functioning and reduce complications from an injury/disease.
To assess and offer quality assistive devices that improve the quality of life.
To deliver social value to RMA claimants through enhanced benefits.

Anchored by three pillars:

Provision of optimum medical care, appropriate medical procedures/assistive devices to limit complications, reduce extent of disability

Assist an employee to maintain employment, obtain employment, regain or acquire vocational independence, ultimately restore the dignity of the disabled worker

Restoring an employee's independence and social integration to the maximum extent practicable
